Alright, I finally have my ticket all booked and I am ready to go. I’m packed, moved out of my apartment in Kingston, have most important things dealt with before I leave, and now all I get to do is wait. You would not believe how much stuff you need to sort out if you’re planning on leaving the country for a year! There’s passports, travel insurance, immunizations, and tickets, of course, but you also have to think about things like mail forwarding, canceling phone and internet, putting stuff into storage, filling prescriptions, making sure nothing important (credit card, passport, driver’s license, health card) doesn’t expire while you’re gone. As a side note, all four of the previously mentioned important documents are expiring for me! In my case I had to de-register from school so they didn’t charge me money. There’s also the notifying the landlord, telling everyone that you’re leaving, scheduling time in to see as many people as you can before you leave, ending my epic dungeons and dragons game… oh the list goes on and on.
So! I’m officially leaving this Wednesday, August the 12. I somehow lucked out hugely and got a direct flight that leaves around 2pm and arrives at about 9, on Air Canada even, so I’ll have one of those fancy TV screens on the back of the seat.
Wish me luck!
Good Luck
What an excellent (and probably scary) opportunity.
This is so very exciting.
I have and will be sending you a CTV olympic ball cap…just what you need.
I noticed your hair is now short, it’s cute (saw your dad’s vacation pics)
Have fun…I look forward to the blog
