Lunch today was a dish called lomo saltado. It was quite delicious, but worth describing because it was, to a Canadian, very weird. Basically it was a stir fry, with beef, tomato, and onions. Oh yeah, and french fries. French fries, in the stir fry. Served on a bed of rice. See for yourself!

Lomo Saltado
I love Lomo Saltado, and there’s a recipe for it that I developed in my cookbook. Technically, the french fries aren’t french fries, their pan fried into the dish. There’s also usually a tomato sauce, too, so I usually describe it to folks as “steak & fries in ketchup”.
Have you tried a Pisco Sour yet? Yum, yum, yum.

It’s quite an easy dish, and you might also enjoy reading a brief history on the dish on our blog. There is a recipe at the end if you are in the mood to try it! 🙂
