Barranco

I went with Ana Maria’s friend Romy to a part of Lima called Barranco, which is considered to be the most romantic part of Lima.

Barranco

Barranco means “cliff” in Spanish and you can see why the neighbourhood was called that by the picture to the left.  Apparently it was founded when some fishermen were lost at sea, and saw a vision of a cross in the east, so they followed it and landed on the shores of Barranco.  They decided to live there and give back to the land that saved their lives.

Anyways, Romy was super-awesome. Apparently she does many things including teach Spanish, give tours, and do graphic design. She even used to role-play! We bonded over a shared love of Star Wars and she has agreed to take me to a place called Game Zone where they might sell nerdy gaming things!

  1. Lima looks beautiful and interesting. Peru seems to have everything, mountains, ocean, desert and great statues. Keep the blogs coming.
