South American Explorers Clubhouse
…is a club of which I am now a member!

Evidence
It’s pretty sweet, they have a whole bunch of guidebooks for members to borrow and read, brochures for places to eat and sleep, and things to do. They also have a library where you can bring in an old book that you’re done with and leave it there, taking a book that someone else was done with. And they have a section of things members have donated, like mosquito nets and sunscreen, toothpaste, things you might have forgotten to pack. Upstairs they have long-term room rentals, and they even have binders where members can add a story about their adventure and recommendations to future travellers! Awesome.

Catriona
At the clubhouse I met a lovely girl by the name of Catriona, from England. We had a horribly awkward conversation, the kind you have when you don’t know anything about the other person but don’t have anyone else to talk to. Still, it was fun. She arrived in Lima just two days ago and is going to language school. Much like I did a volunteer abroad program for my university credit, she has to study a language for a semester abroad to get her university credit. She is here all by herself, much like me, so we exchanged contact information. Hopefully she’s not like a stalker or anything, but she seemed nice.
Hi Ali
Just read your blob today, received you card from europe via peru yesterday. People at bridge have been asking after you. I will let them know you are doing okay. It sounds quite exciting, but also a little scary. SO very different. I hope you are careful about what you eat. I dont think they have any chocolate chip cookies there. Is there something you would like me to send. Though I do not have an address for you. We leave for the UK in two weeks, then when I get back I get double cataract surgery. I dumped the local Dr and I am going to Brockville, much, much quicker.
Glad you found a chum, cant stay away from us Brits eh. I have been having some incredible luck lately, cnat figure out what I have done to deserve such. Stay in touch. Liz
