Today was the parade (curso) for the Independence Day celebrations in Lima. Independence Day is July 28th, but the festivities this year were cancelled due to the swine flu scare, and they were today instead.

So the parade started today at 1 and goes all the way until 8:00 at night when they have fireworks. Needless to say, I did not stay for the whole thing, cuz that is just waaaaaaaaaaaayy too many hours, but I think I’ll go back for the fireworks.
