For the past month or so whenever I have been wandering around I have found all kinds of yellow signs that say “Cow Parade” on them. In English. Suffice to say that I was very very confused about what this could possibly mean, and anytime I asked someone they had no clue either. Then, the other day, mysterious shapes started appearing in parks in Lima. Then, today, they were unveiled!
- Cow Parade!
- Covered-Up Cow
- Pretty Cow
- Handicapped Cow
- Religious Cow
- Lady Cow
- Collage Cow
- Bus Cow
- Cartoon Cow
- Two-Headed Cow
Those of you from Toronto will recall the moose that similarly appeared on the streets of Toronto a while back. Apparently this Cow Parade is happening all over the world, and there are 80 cows here in Lima. I will try to catch them all!
We had the cow parade a few years back. I would like to point out that you have a bull parade. They have horns. Female cows don’t get horns.
Our cow parade was 500 cows and two bulls. Several of my artist friends decorated cows. I actually have a cow in the lobby of my building.

The sign clearly says “cow parade”. And do bulls wear makeup or wear fancy shoes? I didn’t think so.
