Manos Especiales

Today I went to an organization, for the first time in a while.  Today’s organization was called Manos Especiales, which means “special hands.”  It’s an organization that helps special needs children, mostly by providing them with a classroom as regular schools are usually ill-equipped to deal with autistic and Downs syndrome kids.

Manos Especiales

Although it didn’t look particularly interesting from the outside, and there wasn’t a doorbell, I was greeted by a lovely young lady named Patricia who was so awesome and cheerful.  I came to do a site inspection and to talk about one of the volunteers, Kate, who will be starting there next week, and Patricia was really excited to have the help.

Tiny people's room!

She said that there were three different classrooms that they had, and this one above was for the “diablitos” – that is, little devils.  So wanna come volunteer?  Check out my writeup online at this website right here!
