Pros: Everything touristy about Peru, classic trip

Cons: Overdone, busy and touristy

Route:

Start in Lima

South to Pisco and Paracas (3 hours by bus)

  • See the Islas Ballestas (wildlife watching)

South to Ica (1 hour by bus)

South to Nazca (2 hours by bus)

South to Arequipa (12 hour bus, or take a plane – Arequipa has an airport)

  • See architecture, nightlife
  • Trekking in Canon del Colca or Canon del Cotahuasi (canyons) or El Misti (mountain)

East to Puno (6 hours by bus, or take a plane – Puno has an airport)

North to Cusco (6 hours by bus, or take a plane – Cusco has an airport)
